Two New Grandbabies

Well I obviously am not a frequent blogger! But I will try to be better in the future.

Our two big events for the summer and fall have been the births of our two new granddaughters, Brooke and Jenna.

Brooke Asay was born 11 June 2008 to Sarah and David Asay. She weighed 8lbs 12oz and was 20 inches long. She joined big brother, Luc almost 4 and sister, Ashley almost 2. I was able to be there for 10 days helping Sarah and spending time with her very active children! It was so fun but I was soooo tired.

A funny thing happened when I was returning home to Folsom. My son-in-law, David had dropped me off at the San Diego airport with time to spare and I went in to check my luggage in. I put the information into the computer and it said I didn't have reservation. I almost started crying because I had been looking forward to sleeping in my own bed and sleeping in as long as I could! I was at the wrong airport - I was supposed to be at the Orange County airport. It is about the same distance and half the time we do one and half the time the other so I had not paid too much attention. I went to the ticket counter and almost begged them to get me on a flight to Folsom that night and luckily they had a flight at about the same time and it only cost me $60 to change it. Not that I don't love my grandchildren but it was worth the $60!

Jenna Lynne was born 26 September 2008 to Nate and Lana. She weighted 9lbs and was 20 inches. Big brother, Andy who is 5 and big sister, Kayla who is 3 are happy to have a baby sister. Grandpa and I were able to help with Andy and Kayla for a week taking them to and from school and having them at our house until dinner time every day. The kids were able to sleep in their own beds every night and so was Grandma! We were all glad about that!
